Christmas Sausage Roll Wheel with Camembert Cheese

This fabulously festive sharing wheel by our Brand Ambassador Jill Stewart (@jillbakes_ on Instagram) is absolutely stunning!

This serves approximately six people, so the perfect excuse for a wee gathering!

Ingredients:

150g The Stuffing Company Company Cranberry, Apricot & Orange Stuffing

1 wheel Camembert or Brie

1 sheet ready rolled puff pastry

200g sausage meat

Salt and black pepper

A sprig of fresh rosemary (optional)

1 egg, beaten

1 tbsp cranberry sauce

Method:

  1. Cut the puff pastry sheet in half lengthways.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the sausage meat and stuffing together. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Halve the mixture, then shape each half into a long sausage and put along the long edge of one side of both rectangles.
  4. Fold the pastry over itself, completely enclosing the sausagemeat, then seal the edges with a fork. Cut into sausage rolls about 3-4cm wide.
  5. Put the cheese onto the middle of a baking tray lined with a sheet of baking paper. Set the sausage rolls around the cheese in a circle making sure they touch each other. You may have a few leftover sausage rolls (chefs bonus!) – just cook these in the oven on a separate tray.
  6. Brush really well with egg then chill for 20 minutes (or until you are ready to cook it – you could do this up to 24 hours in advance.
  7. Heat the oven to 170 degrees fan. Brush the sausage roll with egg again. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden and cooked through. You could also air fry this if it fits!
  8. Transfer to a serving board and spoon the cranberry sauce into the cheese. Add the rosemary sprig for decoration.
