Three Generations of Tradition & Taste

Tony and Ann
TS Foods was established in 1978 by husband and wife team, Tony and Ann Steele. Today TS Foods maintains its family roots. Now managed by the second generation of the Steele family, with daughter Joanne Molloy and son David Steele at the helm of the ever expanding business, the third generation of the family also working within the company, learning the ropes! The company initially began as a popular fish and chip shop (The Dolphin in Castlewellan), where Tony and Ann identified a gap in the market for value added coated products within the local food service sector.

Here, they worked together to create their iconic Belfast-style battered Chip Shop Pastie – the first of its kind to be sold to food retailers throughout Northern Ireland – which was met with unprecedented demand nationwide.

Following its huge success, Tony & Ann developed and marketed an entire range under the ever-popular ‘Tony’s Chippy‘ range from their purpose built premises in Mary Street, Castlewellan, from where the company still operates today.

In 1983, they pin-pointed another gap in the market and became the first food company in Northern Ireland to sell prepared fresh breadcrumb stuffing, and today our award-winning stuffing products continue to be the category leader.

In the ensuing years, we have continued to invest in the expansion of our factory to meet with increasing customer demand and develop new, innovative products. The ambition of the team and quality of produce has seen TS Foods garner a strong reputation of flexibility and capability within the food industry.

Now with over 100 employees, TS Foods continues to innovate and offer new and exciting products – like TS Foods Chicken Mini Fillets and Ann’s Kitchen Ready to Cook Chilled Chicken range – to retailers both here in Northern Ireland as well as the Republic of Ireland and Great Britain. We also supply a wide range of products to both food service and private label customers, offering superb quality, value and choice.
